John Bowman of Bandon, Ore., died October 31, 1993, at the age of 79, having lived in Coos County most of that time and leaving a living testimonial of several hundred rhododendrons and azaleas. John generously gave of his plants and knowledge of growing and propagating rhododendrons. He will be sorely missed - his gentle manner and easy, giving nature were an example for all who knew him. What better can a man do? John Bowman was a member of the Southwestern Oregon Chapter of the ARS.
