ARS Welcomes Two New Chapters
Barbara R. Hall, Executive Director
Gloucester, Virginia

At the Oct. 4, 1996, meeting of the American Rhododendron Society's Board of Directors, the Southern Connecticut Chapter and the Peninsula Chapter were approved as the Society's 72nd and 73rd chapters, respectively.
The Southern Connecticut Chapter, with Leo Sandmann as president, will alternate its meeting sites between the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, Conn., and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven, Conn. Their membership will consist mostly of members from the area south of the towns of Waterbury and Meriden, Conn.
The Peninsula group, led by President Mary Boatwright, will meet at the Peninsula Public Library in Gig Harbor, Wash. Members will be drawn primarily from Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula in Pierce County, Wash.
We congratulate both chapters and welcome them to our growing family!
