EUREKA CHAPTER: Bronze Medal
Nelda Palmer
In the ten years since you joined the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, you have given tirelessly of your time and talent to bring the world of rhododendrons to others. During your two terms as president, you led the chapter to develop a display at the Humboldt County Fair. You continue to lead the chapters effort to clean up and maintain the public rhododendron garden at Eurekas Sequoia Park. You have worked every year to make the annual Truss Show and Plant Sale a success, serving as show chair for the past two years. You also served as chair for a very successful Western Regional Conference in 1999. You have worked on virtually every project the chapter has undertaken during the past ten years, and been a regular volunteer for the many ARS work parties. For your dedicated and tireless work on behalf of the chapter, the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is proud to present the Bronze Medal to Nelda Palmer this 9th day of December 2004.

Bruce Palmer
It has been ten years since you joined the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society - a busy 10 years for both you and the chapter. You have served us as a member of the board for most of that time, holding office as vice president or secretary or as a committee chair. You have been a dependable and dedicated volunteer for every project the chapter has undertaken in the past decade - including the annual Truss Show and Plant Sale, the display gardens for the KEET-TV landscape show and the Humboldt County Fair, numerous potting parties and ARS work parties. Your energy and dedication have been an inspiration for the entire chapter. For your dedicated and tireless work on behalf of the chapter, the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is proud to present the Bronze Medal to Bruce Palmer this 9th day of December 2004.

Tim Walsh
Since you joined the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, you have been active in virtually everything we have done. You were a leader for two successful Western Regional Conferences and a dedicated and tireless worker in preparing display gardens for KEET-TV landscape shows and the Humboldt County Fair. Your work on the annual Truss Show and Plant Sale has helped make that event a success year after year. Youve shared your travels with us through several programs, been our auctioneer, and served as vice president and president. Youve kept track of our bank accounts as treasurer and continue to serve the American Rhododendron Society as its treasurer. For your efforts over a decade and a half on our behalf, the Eureka Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is proud to award the Bronze Medal to Tim Walsh this 9th day of December 2004.

Colleen Forster
As a gesture of our gratitude for the numerous contributions made by Colleen Forster to the activities of the Fraser South Chapter of the ARS, we are honoured to bestow her our Highest Award. She has shared her passion and enthusiasm on a regular monthly basis, both at chapter meetings and in the Yak. Many of her articles have been published in the ARS Journal and read around the world. She has generously donated numerous plants to the chapter and is a significant contributor to plant sales. We are pleased to recognize her valued contribution by the Award of the Bronze Medal.

Sue Klapwijk
Sue Klapwijk has been a most generous and outstanding contributor to the Fraser South Chapter in many different ways. She has been an active member of the Executive for many years. She has served as secretary and as the Ways & Means chairperson responsible for coordinating many of the social activities including the Annual Picnic and our Christmas Gala. She has contributed numerous plants to the chapter and willingly shared her knowledge and expertise. Her efforts have been accomplished in a quiet and thoughtful manner and in an efficient and cooperative spirit. The chapter is pleased to recognize her vigorous energy by the highest award that we are able to bestow - the ARS Bronze Medal. 2004.

FRASER SOUTH CHAPTER: Bronze Medal
Dr. Norma Senn
The Fraser South Chapter of the ARS is pleased to bestow its "Highest Award" to Dr. Norma Senn for her many contributions to the chapter. She has been a member of the Executive for many years and has served as president for two years. She was Programme Director for many years and was instrumental in bringing to the chapters meetings, speakers of an exceptional caliber. She is a regular contributor to the Yak and has been an enthusiastic supporter of our bus tours. In addition, she has contributed generously of her professional expertise and her knowledge. She has willingly shared her garden with all members. She is a most valued and esteemed member of the Fraser South Chapter. It is a privilege to award Norma the Bronze Medal. 2004

KOMO KULSHAN CHAPTER: Bronze Medal
Sonja Nelson
The Komo Kulshan Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is extremely proud to bestow the highest award possible from this chapter, the Bronze Medal, to Sonja Nelson Sonjas willingness to assist whenever possible in whatever capacity she may, is duly noted. Sonja has served at the chapter level as an active board member, volunteered as a display coordinator and hostess at flower and plant shows, chapter hostess to new and established members, and chapter officer and president. Sonja has promoted the care and interest in rhododendrons with the publication of several books on the care and culture of gardens and rhododendrons. Sonja has displayed a willingness to travel to national and international events and meetings to record the activities for one of the most admired and recognized gardening publications of the world, the Journal American Rhododendron Society. As editor of this journal, she has achieved and maintained a degree of professionalism that is accomplished by few. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that this chapter presents to Sonja Nelson, for her time, effort and exceptional leadership in the advancement of interest and knowledge of the genus Rhododendron , this Bronze Medal on November 18, 2004.

SOUTHEASTERN CHAPTER: Bronze Medal
Marvin O. Braswell
The Southeastern Chapter gratefully awards the Bronze Medal to Mr. Marvin O. Braswell for his outstanding service to the chapter as Book Chairman, and in successfully completing countless assignments directed toward the enhancement of membership in our chapter. You have provided us the best in literature which has enabled us to be more effective in pursuit of our cultivation of rhododendrons. You have been a commendable representative of our chapter as you extended your services to regional and national meetings. As you continue to serve the chapter, we offer this medal to remind you of our gratitude. December 9, 1984.

The Fraser South Chapter of the ARS is pleased to award Dixie Mueller the Gerry C. Emerson Memorial Award 2004 for her excellent work as chairperson of the Welcoming Committee and in recognition of the importance that the chapter has for the work of this committee.
