This disk contains all the incompressible-flow cases from the 1980-81 Data Library, EXCEPT for four very long cases, 0411 (Cantwell cylinder), 0441 (Wadcock airfoil), 0511 (Shabaka wing-body junction), 0512 (Humphrey bend). These data sets are available on request. Disks 2 and 3 contain the compressible cases from 1980-81, except for 8602 (Kooi shock/BL interaction, also available on request). File DIR8081 is just a directory of this disk. INDEX is the index of the Data Library magnetic tape, from which these disks were derived (the index on pages 624-632 of the 1980- 81 conference Proceedings, of which a hard copy is included with this package, is probably more convenient to use). The format of the data sets differs slightly from those on the tape: each of the data sets was divided into several files on tape, whereas each set on disk is a single file, with an additional line of text showing the beginning and end of each tape file. This transcription to disk was done by Prof. G.M. Lilley, University of Southampton, to whom we owe our thanks. The present organizers have done no further editing. In particular, we have not inserted "skip" and "read" counts between alphabetic and numeric information. The 1980-81 data library was written in uniform format, described on pages 59-60 of the Proceedings (also enclosed). The data on the original files are in normalized format, as explained on p. 60 of the 1980-81 Proceedings. Later disks contain "unpacked" versions of some of the cases (those actually used in the project on Collaborative Testing of Turbulence Models) with an "A" appended to the original case number. The 1980-81 Conference Proceedings give a full description of the contents of disks 1 to 3, and are available from Mech Engg Dept, Stanford CA 94305 USA (contact P. Bradshaw). A description of the final state of the complete data library (1980-81 plus CTTM) is in file INTRO on Disk 6. README.1, Updated Nov. 1993
