PREFATORY NOTE
All the papers in this issue were prepared for the Ninth International Conference of the Society for Philosophy and Technology, held in Puebla, Mexico, October 29-November 1, 1996. A larger set of proceedings, in a special number of the journal Ludus Vitalis, should be appearing shortly; it is being edited by Raul Gutierrez-Lombardo and Jorge Martinez-Contreras.
