Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative
effectiveness of two different teaching approaches in elementary school
physical education methods classes for college level elementary education
majors. The two methods which were studied were the laboratory activity
method and the lecture-discussion method. The subjects involved
in the study were sophomore, junior and senior elementary majors at
Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. Students enrolled in one of
the two elementary school physical education methods classes during
the first semester of the 1977-78 school year.
