Abstract
The mitochondrial utilization of a-ketoglutaric and pyruvic acids
have been found to be depressed in guinea pig and bovine ketosis. Addition
of sodium acetoacetate to the reaction medium resulted in depressed
oxidation of pyruvate and 1-ketoglutarate of isolated normal rat liver
mitochondria.
