Provost open forums to continue

Last week's announcement from Governor George Allen imposing a hiring freeze has caused speculation concerning the search for the senior vice president and provost.

The university expects to be able to request an exemption, and anticipates being able to appoint a senior vice president and provost in the near future. Accordingly, the search is proceeding as planned.

The remaining open forum dates are as follows:

12-09 Mark Auburn: 10:30 a.m.--noon, 1045 Pamplin.

12-13 Anne Hopkins: 1:45--3:15 p.m., DBHCC auditorium.

All members of the university community are encouraged to attend.
