Microsoft Word classes for Macintosh to be offered

Spectrum Volume 18 Issue 19 - February 1, 1996

Exclusively for Virginia Tech faculty and staff members, New River Community College in collaboration with Virginia Tech Information Systems is offering a Quick Course in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh. The classes will meet one night each week for five weeks in the classroom of the Andrews Information Systems Building, 1700 Pratt Drive, in the Corporate Research Center.

The cost will be $50.65 per student.To register, follow the instructions below:

Complete a Virginia Tech Open Enrollment Nomination form and mail it to The New Dimensions Office, 404 Clay Street (0348). To obtain blank forms call 1-9331.

Register yourself through NRCC by calling 382-4595 (ext. 222 or 459) or by FAX at 381-7128. Official registration requires a current application for admissions; your name; social security number; class number, section, and title; and daytime telephone number. Personnel Services will no longer call in your registration, and you will not receive a written confirmation.

Tuition and fees will be billed through Personnel Services and then to your individual department. Virginia Tech will only pay for one-credit computer classes .

Each student will be required to have a copy of the textbook. Textbooks charged through New River's bookstore ( speed purchase order required ) will be available at the first class meeting.

There are minimum registration requirements for each class. Should a class not meet those requirements, students officially registered will be notified by phone of the cancellation. Unless you are notified of a cancellation, please plan to attend class as scheduled.

Additional classes will be scheduled based on demand and need. Your input is used in determining what classes to offer and the most convenient times. You may relay ideas to Bill Sanders at 1-9500, or to NRCC's Christiansburg office.
