Spectrum Volume 18 Issue 21 - February 22, 1996

Dear Editor:

In writing the history of women at Virginia Tech for Spectrum, I stated that none of the first women are included in the Alumni Directory. Ruth Terrett is, in fact, listed under her married name. None of the others are listed. But neither are any of our alumni who are known to be deceased.

I apologize to your readers and to those staff members in the Alumni Office who published the directory for my egregious error.

In the February 15 issue, Martha Johnson was quoted as telling the Commission on Graduate Studies and Policies that since the roof on the coliseum will be replaced this spring, the coliseum will not be available as an alternative site for the Saturday morning Commencement.

Ed Henneke, chairman of the Commencement Committee, clarified that it is not yet certain that the coliseum will be unavailable.
