Today is payday
Spectrum Volume 19 Issue 16 - January 16, 1997
(Editor's note: the following information regarding pay dates was provided by Ann Spencer, associate vice president for personnel and administrative services.)
As you may be aware, Governor George Allen and several legislators plan to submit legislation to repeal the lag-pay dates during the current General Assembly session which convened last week.
It is anticipated that some legislation will be approved for a different pay schedule for 1997 than the current lag-pay schedule we distributed earlier this fall.
We have been advised by the state comptroller that January payrolls should not be adjusted in accordance with the lag-pay schedule. Accordingly, the pay date for both salaried and wage employees will be Thursday, Jan. 16. A decision will be made with regard to future pay dates as soon as we know the results of these and other legislative actions.
