Aerial photo set for April 17
Virginia Tech Spectrum, April 10, 1997The Virginia Tech community will have an opportunity to celebrate the university's 125th anniversary in a different way next week-by forming the numbers 125 on the Drillfield. Planned by the 125th Anniversary Student Steering Committee (see letter to the editor), the special event will begin at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, and should last less than an hour.
Members of several student organizations, including the Corps of Cadets, will outline each numeral, while other students, faculty and staff members are invited to fill the numbers in.
The scene will be photographed from an airplane by University Relations photographer Bob Veltri for use in publications. Plans are also underway to make the photo available in postcard format.
