A celebration of the life of Lottie Moon, a pioneer Southern Baptist missionary to China, will begin Friday night at 7:30 at Hollins College. Moon, an early student at Hollins, is the subject of a biography, "Her Lengthened Shadow."
The book's author, Catherine Allen, will present a free lecture on Moon as the first of several events of the weekend. Its overall theme will be the role of women in ministry.

\ Holocaust discussion
Dr. Charles Sydnor, president of Emory & Henry College, will discuss "The Holocaust: From Memory to History" for the interfaith Roanoke Valley Ministers Conference Monday.
The meeting, open to religion professionals and guests, will begin with fellowship at 10 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. The National Conference of Christians and Jews is sharing in sponsorship of this program.
\ Geisert to speak
Dr. Wayne F. Geisert, president of Bridgewater College for nearly 25 years, will speak March 11 at 11 a.m. at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, 5333 Cove Road. Geisert, active in civic and church affairs, currently is president of the national board of the Church of the Brethren.
