ELDERHOSTEL AT 4-H CENTER

The Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center will sponsor its second Elderhostel program March 11-16.

Elderhostel is an educational program for adults, age 60 and older, to develop new interests. While living at the center, participants will attend short-term academic programs. The programs offered will include "Southern Writers," "Wish You Were Here," a course in the culture and customs of Spain, Russia, Kenya and Japan, and "Back to the Future," a study of Amish, Mennonite and Old German Baptist religions.

Area residents are invited to participate in Elderhostel as commuters. Commuting participants may attend all class sessions, field trips and afternoon group activities. The $110 fee for commuters includes class instruction, materials, field trips and lunch.

Registration deadline is Tuesday. For more information, or to register, contact Mark Humphrey at 721-2759.
