AGRICULTURE LECTURES IN STAUNTON

The Museum of American Frontier Culture in Staunton will present a four-week lecture series on the role of agriculture in Virginia's history on Tuesdays from 7:30-9 p.m.

The following lectures are scheduled:

March 6 - "God Speed the Hoe: Plantation Labor in Colonial Virginia," by Wayne Randolph, agricultural specialist, Colonial Williamsburg.

March 13 - "Continuity and Change in Agriculture in the Valley of Virginia during the 19th Century," by Dr. Kenneth Koons, history deparment, Virginia Military Institute.

March 20 - "Educating the Farm Woman: The Early Home Demonstration Club Movement in Augusta County, Virginia," by Ann McCleary, curator of research and programs, Museum of American Frontier Culture.

March 27 - "The Biology Revolution: Future Implications for Virginia Agriculture," by Dr. G. Terry Sharrer, curator of agriculture, Smithsonian Institution.

This lecture series is supported by a grant from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be provided.
