Mrs. Effie Harris Stevens, age 85, of Route 1, Vinton, died Sunday, March 4, 1990, in a local hospital. She was the widow of Marvin D. Stevens, Sr. She was preceded in death by her sons, Marvin D. Stevens, Jr. and Robert L. Stevens. Surviving are one granddaughter, Sandra Hagy, Blue Ridge; daughter-in-law, Mildred Stevens, Roanoke; sister-in-law, Viola Stevens, Roanoke; several cousins; a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be at the Sherwood Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Arley (Sonny) Miller officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel.
