MOTORIST SHOT ON INTERSTATE 95 BY ANGRY DRIVER

A Florida man was shot in the temple on Interstate 95 by another motorist apparently angry over the victim's driving, police and sources said.

Silvester Hartfield Jr. was shot about 7 p.m. Sunday as he raced alongside the gunman's car near the Boulevard exit, authorities said.

"It appears that it was an irate motorist angered by some vehicle maneuver" who did the shooting, Trooper Alvin S. Peyton said.

Lynda Adams, spokeswoman for the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, said Hartfield was in critical condition today. She had no age or hometown for Hartfield.

Sources told the Richmond Times-Dispatch the victim was a 23-year-old Hampton University senior from Lauderhill, Fla.
