3 THREE HOUSE FIRES REPORTED IN ROANOKE

Three suspicious fires at Roanoke houses - two of them vacant - were reported Sunday night.

No one was injured in the fires, and damage apparently was not extensive.

The first fire was reported about 9:11 p.m. at a home on the 1200 block of Tazewell Avenue Southeast. The occupant of the home was arrested a short distance from the home and was charged with being drunk in public, police said.

At 11:48 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant house on the 1100 block of Ferdinand Avenue Southwest.

And at 12:04 a.m., a third fire broke out at a vacant house on the 100 block of Wells Avenue Northwest.
