STUDENTS PROPOSE BAN ON SHORT-LIFE PRODUCTS

Students in Christiansburg High School's chemistry classes recently staged a panel discussion on policies for the energy and resource future of the United States.

The proposal selected by the groups was to ban the use of petroleum for the production of any materials with a useful lifetime of less than two years, which would eliminate soft-drink bottles, ball point pens and other common items.
