JUDGE MAKES RULINGS IN PULASKI CIRCUIT COURT

In Pulaski County Circuit Court action this week, Judge A. Dow Owens ruled on the following cases:

Wanda Lou Austin, 22, of Buena Vista, was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of being an accessory to an armed robbery.

Austin was involved in the May 7 robbery of the Sentry Food Mart at Interstate 81's Claytor Lake exit, according to Commonwealth's Attorney Everett Shockley. Austin drove the getaway car while two male companions entered the store and robbed a clerk at knifepoint, Shockley said.

Samuel R. Conrad, 27, of Dublin, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and was sentenced to two years in prison. Conrad was arrested Jan. 9, 1989, on an unrelated charge and police found cocaine in his pocket, Shockley said.

Douglas L. Bowers, 21, of Pulaski, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury. He was sentenced to a year of probation.

Bowers was arrested following a June 15 accident in which the car he was driving struck another car and a passenger received minor injuries. Bowers fled without stopping.

Michael E. Nance, 35, of Pulaski, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and was sentenced to two years' probation. Nance was charged with breaking into Cougar Corner store Sept. 12 and stealing beer.
