HOWARD, GAYE M. WHITSETT, N.C. - Mrs. Gaye Medley Howard, age 85, died Saturday, March 3, 1990, in Wesleylong Hospital, Greensboro, N.C. Mrs. Howard was a native of Craig County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Bennett and Ella Fisher Medley. She was the widow of Walter Howard and was preceded in death by two children, Ralph Hutchinson and Shirley Duncan. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are five daughters, Mable Brizendine and Marie Fleet, both of Blacksburg; Margaret Trout, Flint, Mich.; Stella Collins, Christiansburg; Barbara Agnor, Whitsett, N.C.; one son, Frank Hutchinson, Roanoke; one brother, Rex Medley, New Castle; a special niece, Jean Phillips, Eden, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home Chapel in Blacksburg, Va., conducted by the Rev. Robert Leonard and the Rev. Samuel Greeson. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Lifesaving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, Va., 24541. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
