PTL BLAMED IN FILING IN BANKRUPTCY COURT

A developer who has blamed much of his financial trouble on $15 million owed him by Jim Bakker's bankrupt PTL ministry filed personal and corporate bankruptcy reorganization petitions Monday.

Both Chapter 11 petitions say Roe Messner of suburban Andover intends to propose a plan to reorganize his debts and continue in business.

Unsecured debt amounts listed in the personal petition include $750 million for a disputed court judgement in Greensboro, N.C., against Messner, Bakker and others, and nearly $350,000 to the Internal Revenue Service. - Associated Press
