VINTON MAN JAILED ON MARIJUANA CHARGE

A Vinton man was arrested Sunday morning in Rockbridge County by state police and charged with possession of 5 pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute the drug.

Donald Wayne King, 36,was taken to the Rockbridge County Jail in Lexington, where he is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Special Agent Cecil Handy said a state police investigation led to King, who was arrested about 6 a.m. Sunday off Exit 54 along Interstate 81 near the Augusta County line.

Authorities suspected King would be in the Exit 54 area before he was taken into custody, Handy said.
