LET LAKE-AREA PEOPLE HAVE WHAT THEY WANT

IF THE PEOPLE of Franklin County would only wake up and see (and reap) the benefits that liquor by the drink would have for Franklin County, I feel they would be in favor of it. The revenue could help supply funds for additions to schools, the emergency system that Franklin County deperately needs, and many other items.

I know a lot of people in the county are totally against anything that would prosper Smith Mountain Lake or Ron Willard; but without the tax dollars they supply, this county would be a lot less fortunate.

Willard furnished the 4-H Center more than $100,000 to build picnic shelters that the county's children could enjoy. He served on committees for the 4-H Center when instead he could have been making his own business propser. He is serving on the committee for the addition to Franklin Memorial Hospital and donated funds for the addition.

This is not a moral issue. There are not going to be any more drunks on the road; if anything, there may be fewer. Let Smith Mountain Lake area residents have what they want and feel is best for them.
