Paul C. Rohr, 16, was treated at Montgomery County Regional Hospital for head injuries and lacerations and was released, according to David Crist, boys' track coach and a math teacher at the high school.
A police dispatcher said Rohr and other team members were running along the 1500 block of South Main Street at about 4:15 Tuesday afternoon. Rohr ran into the path of a station wagon being driven by Willie G. Young, 47, of Newport.
The dispatcher said no charges were filed in the incident.
Crist said Rohr and two or three other runners were on their regular workout at the time. Rohr, a junior and a middle-distance runner on the team, received four stitches in his head, he said.
