MARYE BILL EASES HEARING-AID RETURN

Consumers will be able to return hearing aids to dealers in exchange for a refund or replacement within 30 days of delivery if Gov. Douglas Wilder signs into law a bill proposed by state Sen. Madison E. Marye, D-Shawsville.

The General Assembly already has passed the bill, which requires dealers to advise purchasers in bold print that they are entitled to a refund with the return of the hearing aid, Marye said.

The bill is intended to protect elderly customers who sometimes get stuck with unusable hearing aids, he said. - Staff report
