PANEL ADMONISHES GINGRICH OVER PURCHASE

The House ethics committee decided Wednesday to drop its investigation of Republican Whip Newt Gingrich, but will criticize his failure to disclose the purchase of a home, the lawmaker who filed the complaint against him said.

"The ethics committee has resolved the Gingrich matter by deciding not to investigate further, but by deciding to admonish Gingrich" for not reporting his purchase of a home with his daughter, said Rep. Bill Alexander, D-Ark.
