4 AMERICANS KILLED IN EXPLOSION

A gas explosion and fire in a second-floor Asian restaurant in downtown Frankfurt killed 11 people, including four Americans, police said today.

At least three of the dead in the blaze Wednesday night were attached to U.S. forces in West Germany, U.S. Army spokeswoman Brigitte Schmitz said.

Officials declined to give out the names of the victims pending notification of relatives.
