FOUR FILE FOR SEATS ON FLOYD TOWN COUNCIL

At least one new person will be elected to Floyd Town Council in the May 1 elections.

Otis D. Howell was the only incumbent among the four persons who filed by the March 6 deadline for the two positions on Council.

Others who filed were Rebecca Sweeney Harman, Gayle M. Griffin, and Thomas V. O'Neill.

Current council member Robert N. Shelor Jr. did not file for re-election.

There were no additional filings in the mayoral race before the deadline. That race pits two-term incumbent Gino Williams against Carrol T. Lane, the former mayor, in a rematch of the 1986 elecion.
