PALMER, JOHN T. PENHOOK - Mr. John Thomas Palmer, age 85, of Route 2, died
Thursday, March 8, in the Rocky Mount Hospital. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Elizabeth Adkins Palmer. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law,
Flora and Jimmy Dorsett of Danville; one son and daughter-in-law, Nelson and
June Palmer, Penhook; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Zeigler of Roanoke; seven
grandchildren and six grandchildren-in-law, Vick and Kaye Dorsett, Tommy and
Kaye Dorsett, Kaye Dorsett, Mike and Carolyn Palmer, Susan and Tim Altice, Don
and Patty Palmer, Cindy and Jeff Holland; twelve great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday in the Cool Springs Christian Church by the Rev. J. C. Keesee, the
Rev. Arthur Matson and Elder O. K. Tench. Interment will follow in the family
cemetery. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, after 4:00 p.m.
Friday where the family will be from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the
residence of Nelson Palmer.
