ROAD PROJECT CHIEF NAMED FOR LEE, SCOTT

William R. Brooks has been named project engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation's resident office for Lee and Scott counties.

A 39-year veteran of the department, Brooks will be responsible for overseeing highway construction in the counties. "I am particularly anxious to begin work on the Route 58 projects between Cumberland Gap and Jonesville, as well as the Route 72 project in Gate City," he said.

The Russell County native worked most recently as project inspector at the Wise residency, serving Wise and Dickenson counties.
