OBIT-POWERS, E.

POWERS, Elmer E. Elmer Earl Powers, 80, of 1322 Longwood Ave., passed away suddenly Friday, March 9, 1990. He was born October 27, 1909, in Bedford, a son of the late Sam D. Powers, and Elsie Wood Powers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence J. Powers. He was a retired insurance agent, was a veteran of World War II, a member of the V. F. W. No. 2157 and the American Legion Post 16. He is survived by his wife, Alma Zimmerman Powers; nephew, Jimmy D. Powers, Bedford. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, March 11, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. from the Greenwood Cemetery by the Rev. Wayne Murphy. The family will receive friends today from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, and requests that those wishing to make memorials should consider the Bedford Fire Department.
