WINGO, BERLE F. NARROWS - Berle Frederick Wingo, age 77, died Friday morning in the VA Medical Center in Salem. He was a native of Newport, Va., and the son of the late William Berns and Farrie Lafon Wingo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wingo Dunford and brother, Claude Wingo. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the North Narrows Tabernacle, Narrows, Va. He is survived by his wife, Stella Lawson Woolwine Wingo; one stepson, Robert L. Woolwine, Jr., Joppa, Md.; two stepdaughters, Merlene W. Thompson and Betty W. Thompson, both of Joppa, Md.; also a niece, Gale Dunford Williams, Pembroke; a great-nephew, Jimmy Williams, Pembroke; and a brother-in-law, Roy Dunford of Newport; several stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the North Narrows Tabernacle, Narrows, Va., with the Rev. Eddie Kendall and the Rev. Paul Terry officiating. Burial will be in Angels Rest Memorial Gardens, Narrows, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00. The Williams-Jamison-Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, is in charge of the arrangements.
