THREE EDUCATION AWARDS TO BE GIVEN

Jack Higgs, professor of English at East Tennessee State University and a specialist in Appalachian studies, will be the main speaker at an Excellence in Education Honors Banquet April 26 at 7 p.m. at Virginia Intermont College.

The banquet is planned as an annual event by the Greater Bristol Chamber of Commerce Educational Task Force. Awards, based on nominations from the public and a committee of area educators, will be given for distinguished service in education by a corporation, an individual and a civic group.

Nominations for the three awards will be taken through April 9. Nomination forms are available at the chamber office.
