Harry Watkins Wilson, age 78, of 401 Friends Way (Friendship Manor), died in a Salem hospital Saturday. He attended VPI, was a member of the Roanoke Country Club, and had served on the board of directors of the Y.M.C.A. He served as president of the Roanoke Association of General Agents and Managers Conference and had been a vice-president of the Roanoke Life Underwriters Association. He retired in 1968 as Roanoke District Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Hite Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Frederick L. and Barbara C. Wilson; two grandchildren, Frederick L. Wilson, Jr.; Andrew Paul Wilson, all of Roanoke; sister, Mrs. Richard R. Hanna, Hillsborough, Calif.; half sister, Mrs. Ann Winkelman, San Jose, Calif.; half brother, James Wilson, Stuarts Draft, Va. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington at 3:00 p.m. Monday with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. The family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
