BOYFRIEND CHARGED IN STABBING INCIDENT

A Northwest Roanoke man has been charged with stabbing his girlfriend in the stomach over the weekend, police said today.

Jimmy Thompson, 33, of the 2400 block of Hanover Avenue, was charged with malicious wounding in an attack on Ann Mackey, 30, of the same address.

Mackey told police that her boyfriend held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her before stabbing her in the stomach, authorities said.

The incident happened about 7:30 Saturday night. Police had no information on Mackey's condition, but her wounds were apparently not life-threatening.
