LAUGHING GAS CAUSED WRECK THAT KILLED TWO

A man who was sniffing laughing gas when he slammed his car into another vehicle last year, killing two Virginia women, has pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

John Jeffries Lisanick, 23, also pleaded guilty in Fairfax County Circuit Court on Monday to one count of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute and one count of possessing a controlled drug.

Lisanick, who could receive up to 10 years in prison on each charge, is to be sentenced June 8.

The victims of the Nov. 29 accident were Anne Fitchett-Rush, 59, of Falls Church and Elizabeth L. Robinson, 71, of Annandale.

Before he struck their car, Lisanick had been inhaling nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, according to court testimony, and had run a red light at about 70 miles per hour.
