NOFSINGER, C. DENNY, JR. Collins Denny Nofsinger, Jr., died on Wednesday, at
the age of 64 in Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem, Va. Dr. Nofsinger was a retired
dentist in Roanoke and Salem since 1962. He attended Andrew Lewis High School,
graduated from Jefferson High School, Roanoke College, VPI and the University
of North Carolina, where he received his dental degree. He was a member of the
Roanoke Valley Dental Society, Piedmont Dental Association, Virginia Dental
Association, American Dental Association, League of Roanoke Artists, Virginia
Watercolor Society, Drawing Room Society, and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He was
the son of the late Dr. Collins Denny Nofsinger, Sr., and is survived by his
wife, Grace Ames Nofsinger; two sons, Collins Denny Nofsinger, III, Aylett,
Va.; Warner Lewis Nofsinger, Sharpsburg, N.C.; two daughters, Heather Rene
Pickens, Van Alstyne, Texas; Degra Duane Nofsinger, Roanoke; his mother, Duane
Walsh Nofsinger, Roanoke; two sisters, Catherine Nofsinger, Roanoke; and Mary
Virginia Nofsinger Nicholson, Edgefield, S.C. Funeral services will be
conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday from St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church with
Rev. Frederick E. Taylor and Rev. James Drinard Smith officiating. Interment
will follow in Godwin Cemetery, Fincastle, Va. The family suggests in lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the Virginia Lung Association or a favorite
charity. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel where the family will
receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
