Edward Paul Weiss, age 69, of Roanoke, died Thursday in a Salem hospital. He was retired with 43 years of service with the N&W Railroad, formerly the Wabash Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Illinois Local #717 and Virginia Local #165. He is survived by his wife, Veronica A. Weiss; three sons, Edward J. Weiss, South Bend, Ind.; Kenneth R. Weiss, Warren, Mich.; John Anthony Weiss, Roanoke; four daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Lefler, Sacremento, Calif.; Miss Victoria M. Weiss, Mrs. Sandra J. Saunders, both of Roanoke; Miss Nancy J. Weiss, Folly Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, with Father Donald Lemay and Father James Parks. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel after 12:00 Noon Friday.
