MARION - Miss Effie Lou Bagwell, age 94, died Wednesday, March 14, 1990, at her home in Marion. She taught in the public schools of Georgia, Georgia State College for Women, Emory University in Atlanta, and Emory & Henry College. She was Elementary School Supervisor in Wythe, Smyth, Carroll, and Greensville Counties. She received her B.S. degree from Georgia State College for Women and her Masters from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Era Bagwell and Mrs. Ruth B. Graybeal, both of Marion; one brother, John T. Bagwell of Montgomery, Ala.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Marion Baptist Church with the Rev. James G. Pickens and the Rev. Glen O. Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
