COURT INSANITY PLEAS TO BE TOPIC OF PANEL

The concept of criminal insanity as a defense plea in legal cases will be discussed by a panel at Emory & Henry College Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Wiley Hall auditorium.

Panelists will be Nancyjean Bradford, an Abingdon lawyer; Dr. Art Garrett, genetic counselor, East Tennessee State University School of Medicine; Robert Barron, staff psychologist; and Johnny Russell, drug treatment counselor, both from the Marion Correctional Treatment Center.

The panel will look at the definition of criminal insanity, the causes currently identified by the medical profession, and projected treatment of those diagnosed as criminally insane.
