IVANHOE LEAGUE PLANS CELEBRATION ON BOOK

The Ivanhoe Civic League will celebrate publication of its book on the community's history Sunday at the Ivanhoe Educational Center with a 2 p.m. reception.

The book, "Remembering Our Past, Building Our Future," is the result of more than 2 1/2 years of research and writing by residents of Ivanhoe.

"The support we've had for this project has been guided and inspired by numerous people," said Maxine Waller, league president. "This celebration not only honors this historical book, but is a true show of our gratitude for these many individuals who saw fit to believe in Ivanhoe and its people."

She said the league feels that the book "will enhance the understanding of Appalachian heritage in Virginia.
