Natural chemical processes in the body not contamination - may be behind hundreds of cases of a rare, painful blood disorder in people who took the health-food supplement L-tryptophan, researchers say. The substance has been recalled voluntarily by several makers at the urging of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which suspected contamination.
