GIVE FANS VOICE IN SETTLING DISPUTE

BASEBALL players and club owners, in their long-dragged-out controversy, have never mentioned the fans or their wishes. As fans provide the revenue upon which the players and owners survive, one would think they would be given a voice, and a vote in what transpires.

What would happen if the fans organized under the name of Golden Geese, and said ticket prices in 1990 would not exceed 50 percent of prices of 1989? Also that no player's salary will be higher than $100,000? Either that, or the fans won't attend any games. Even reading this in print should bring a quick end to the present holdup.\ H.T.
