ETC. MICHAELS DENIES BEING SUSPENDED BY ABC FOR NEPOTISM

Al Michaels has labeled as false a report that he has been suspended for a month by ABC. Michaels reportedly was suspended for violating the network's policy on nepotism.

During the U.S. Figure Skating Championships Feb. 10-11 at Salt Lake City, the sports announcer was accompanied by his daughter, Jennifer. She served as a runner for ABC and was paid less than $100, a minor violation of the network's policy on nepotism.

"It was a mixup in the accounting department," Michaels was quoted as saying in USA Today. "She received a check implying she was a runner on the show. It's all been cleared up."
