BOLDING GETS 300TH CAREER BASEBALL WIN

Longwood coach Charles "Buddy" Bolding notched his 300th career college baseball victory when the Lancers swept Lock Haven 4-3 and 5-2 in a doubleheader Friday.

Under Bolding's tutelage the past 12 years, the Lancers have had 11 consecutive winning seasons. Longwood is 7-3 this season.

Bolding, a native of Hardy, has taken Longwood to the Division II World Series in 1982 and to third-place finishes in the South Atlantic Region Tournament in 1984 and 1987. He ranks sixth among Division II coaches in winning percentage (69.7) with a 300-130-2 record.

Bolding guided Staunton River High School to a 47-22 record before going to Longwood in 1979. - Staff report
