EXPLORE CAN ONLY ENHANCE THE VALLEY

I AM a fourth-generation Roanoker and a teacher. I have been a volunteer with the Explore Project for several years. As a member of a family who has been actively involved in this community and as an educator, I feel the Explore Project can only enhance our valley. I have watched family members and friends leave the area to pursue careers elsewhere because of lack of opportunity.

The beauty of this valley is one of its greatest assets. This innovative endeavor will provide job oppportunities and an educational experience and attract businesses while protecting our beautiful landscapes, particularly along the river, from industrial development.
