WADE, IRENE MACK\ ROCKY MT, VA - Mrs. Irene Mack Wade, age 74, of Rt. 2, Rocky Mt. died Sunday, March 18 at her home. She was born in Franklin County October 3, 1915 to the late Wiley L. Brown and Eva Fralin Brown. She was a housewife and a member of Holy Trinity Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Virginia Knight Travelers and a former Treasurer of the Sontag & Snow Creek Community Center. Survivors include her husband, Walter L. Wade of the home, four daughters; Mrs. Vernelle Wade and Mrs. Juanita Mack of Rocky Mt.; Mrs. Rebecca Mack Davidson and Mrs. Sadie Mack of Mitchellville, Md.; five sons, Robert Mack, Jonah Mack, Buren Mack, James Mack and Buford Wade, all of Rocky Mt.; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Cobbs, of Penhook; Mrs. Estelle Shelton, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Lillie Mitchell, of Jamaica, N.Y.; Mrs. Alma Holland and Mrs. Shelia Kellings, of Roanoke; and Mrs. Alice Flood, of N.Y.; five brothers, Alfred Brown, of Penhook; Raymond Brown, of Glade Hill; Rex Brown, of Ga.; Charlie Brown, of Chicago, Ill.; and Calvin Brown, of Fieldale; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. from the Holy Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. David Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Truevine Baptist Church cemetery, Penhook. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday night from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will be at the home at other times.
