FINANCIAL RESTRUCTUING DELAYS $125 REFUND FROM SHOE COMPANY

Q: Last November, I ordered two pairs of shoes from Hill Brothers in Lynchburg for $125.61. I have never received them, although I've written and called several times. Will you kindly see if you can collect what they owe me? - A.H., Salem

A: Quickline contacted Hill Brothers about your inquiry.

The company is undergoing financial restructuring, according to a customer service representative, who said, "We've been waiting for new investors to come into the company and get our revenue built up."

When asked if this meant that the company was having financial difficulties, the representative said no. However, this is the third complaint we've received on this company in the past few months, and each time their response has been that the refund will be processed as soon as the financial restucturing is completed.

The representative said she will send out your refund within the next 10 days. If you do not receive it, contact Quickline again.

Rattles recalled

Mini Togs Inc. of Monroe, La., is recalling spin rattles distributed with a baby bib that have been sold nationwide in JC Penney stores since January 1988.

Infants can break the rattles exposing small parts which could present a choking hazard. The rattles feature a center part in the shape of a bear face, butterfly, bell or train engine. The recall only includes Baby Bib #200.

The rattle should be returned to the place of purchase to receive $1 for each one returned or sent to Mini Togs for a replacement. For more information, contact Mini Togs at (318) 388-4916.
