ROANOKE WOMAN RAPED IN CEMETERY

A 24-year-old Roanoke woman was attacked by two young men and raped by one of them in a cemetery off Salem Turnpike Northwest, police said Monday.

The woman told police she was walking in the 3000 block of Salem Turnpike about 1 a.m. Friday when two men grabbed her and forced her into a cemetery.

Both held the woman to the ground as she was raped by one of them, police said.

The men then fled toward Melrose Avenue. The woman, who is from a Northwest Roanoke apartment complex, was treated at a hospital.

The assailants were described as being in their late teens.
